I am a huuuge fan of facial masks; whether it’s clay, sheet, chemical, or charcoal you name it I’ve probably tried it. There is just something about applying one while cleaning, or just chilling around the house that just makes my day a little brighter. So, you can’t imagine how excited I was to get my hands on the Laneige Water Sleeping Hydrating Mask, and boyy it did not disappoint! Here’s my review:
Quick Summary:
- Provides deep hydration.
- Helps improve skin texture and tone.
- Leaves the skin feeling soft, smooth, and refreshed.
- Can help revive tired-looking skin.
About The Product:
The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is meant to be used as an overnight treatment to help improve the skin’s hydration levels and overall appearance. Formulated with squalane and a Probiotic-Derived Complex, it strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier for hyper-hydrating results. At a price range of $32 for 2.3 fl oz, this hydrating mask is worth every penny! A little goes a long way so it can last for a long time.
Suitable for All Skin Types:
If you have dry and combination skin, this mask will work great at giving you hydrated skin. If you have sensitive skin, no worries it’s formulated to be suitable for all skin types. However, it’s always a good idea to do a patch test if you have particularly sensitive skin.
Packaging:
The Water Sleeping Mask typically comes packaged in a sleek, ombre blue jar with a screw-on lid. While jars are typically not ideal due to contamination from dipping with fingers, They prevent this issue by providing a tiny spatula. The Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask packaging is also a good alternative for this issue.
Hydration:
The primary function of the Water Sleeping Mask is to provide intense hydration to the skin. It contains a blend of ingredients such as Squalane which is a hydrating ingredient that mimics the skin’s natural lipids, and a Probiotic-Derived Complex that helps to replenish and lock in moisture.
Texture:
With a lightweight, gel-like texture it glides on effortlessly and is easily absorbed by the skin while also feeling cool and refreshing upon application.
Key Ingredients:
Hydro Ionized Mineral Water:
This is Laneige’s proprietary blend of mineral-rich water that helps to provide deep hydration to the skin.
Moisture Wrap Technology:
This technology helps to form a moisturizing layer over the skin, preventing moisture loss during sleep.
Probiotic-Derived Complex :
Made with lactobacillus ferment lysate derived from 23.8 billion green tea probiotics and trehalose to help give a hydrated glow
Squalane:
A hydrating Hypoallergenic formula that mimics the skin’s natural lipids extracted from sugar cane.
Fragrance:
It does have a light, soothing fragrance that is meant to help promote a relaxed and calming sleep environment. Please take note of this if you are sensitive to fragrances.
Application:
Laneige recommends to use the mask 2-3 times a week in the evening as the last step in your skincare routine. After applying your regular moisturizer, apply a generous amount of the mask evenly over your face. You can leave it on overnight and rinse it off in the morning.
My Thoughts
I’ve been using the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask for several months now. It’s my go-to choice whenever my combination skin needs some TLC (tender love and care) and intense moisture.
My current routine for my combination skin starts with washing my face using the Youth to the People Kale cleanser for a gentle clean- check out that review here, then patting my face dry with a towel. Afterwards, I use either the toner from Youth to the People or the Glycolic Acid by The Ordinary. Tonight, I opted for the Glycolic Acid and followed it up with a serum.
Additionally, since hydration is my priority tonight, I decided to use hyaluronic acid as it helps to pull moisture into the skin and to finish, I applied the Inkey List Omega Water Cream Moisturizer, and Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil before doing Gua Sha.
The Laneige Water Mask should be the final step in your night routine. Upon application, the Water Mask feels cool and lightweight. With its gel-like texture, it slips on easily without feeling greasy or oily. By the next morning It had almost immediately plumped and brightened my complexion.
In the following days, my face felt soft, and smooth and looked completely revitalized.
I absolutely love this product. I 10/10 recommended for those with dry skin, combination skin or anyone simply looking to increase their skin’s hydration levels. Subsequently, this mask has made its way to the top of my favourite hydration masks, and since I’m the type of person who once I find a product that works, sticks with it, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Will you give the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask a try? What other Laneige products would you like me to review?
